Double Glory ADJ Honored With DJ Zone and MMR Awards Ok, so winning isn’t everything, but it sure feels nice; so we were doubly pleased recently to be presented with not one, but two prestigious awards: The DJ Zone Crystal Disc and the MMR Dealer’s Choice. Both prizes are extra special to us because they were the result of voting by the people who actually use and sell our products. This tells us we’re doing a good job in the real world, which means much more than being selected by some ivory tower panel of experts! The editors of DJ Zone surveyed websites, forum posts, emails and personal interviews to find the lighting company that “excelled in innovation, ease of use, creativity and most of all customer satisfaction and service.” This search led them to ADJ. Hey; we could have saved them time and told them that at the start! But in all seriousness, we’re honored by the recognition from a website; we spend a lot of time visiting ourselves. “Serving the working DJ is the core principle that our company has been built on,” said ADJ General Manager Scott Davies. “So having our hard work recognized by these DJs gives us a great sense of satisfaction; we could ask for no better honor.” Many of those DJs buy our products from music dealers, which makes winning the 2010 MMR Dealer’s Choice Award extra special to us too. An internationally recognized trade magazine serving the music and entertainment products industry, MMR reaches over 8,000 dealers in the US. “Dealers are in a unique position to tell us how well we’re doing as a supplier,” said Alfred Gonzales, National Sales Manager of American DJ. “They’re the ones who often hear about it first if there’s a quality issue with a product; and they’re also the first ones who can tell you how well a product is being received by end-users. So it means a great deal to us that American DJ has won the Dealer’s Choice Award with such regularity in recent years.” For Gonzales, the award reaffirms that American DJ’s investment in research and development, along with its strict quality control standards, have paid off. “It’s always nice to be recognized, but the thing I like most about this award is that it shows us that our popular products like the Revo Series, X-Move Series, Accu Series, X-Move and new Vizi Series are not only popular, but are performing reliably too.”

Elation Presents the 2009 Elation Education Experience Award (E3) to California’s Thomas Pendergrass
LOS ANGELES, CA – Elation Professional, a supplier of professional architectural and entertainment lighting products, presented its annual Elation Education Experience Award (E3) to Thomas Pendergrass of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, at the recent LDI Expo in Orlando, Florida. Elation Professional created E3 in 2006 to encourage young lighting designers to pursue careers in the House of Worship (HOW) market.
While at the LDI Expo, Pendergrass had the opportunity to speak with House of Worship lighting experts and learn more about the field. He also received a private tour of the Elation booth and had dinner with Elation executives.
Pendergrass was selected because of his dedication and talent in the field of lighting design. “We developed the E3 contest to enable young LD’s and students to see the opportunities that exist in the House of Worship market,” said Eric Loader, Director of Marketing. “Thomas Pendergrass’ work is exceptional and we are honored to present him with this years’ award. Thomas has a bright future in the HOW market and it is because of young designers like him that the future of our industry is in good hands.”
The E3 competition is an annual event open to any lighting design student, any lighting designer with less than 3 years of professional experience, or any volunteer or part-time assistants working in lighting at a House of Worship.
